Dr. Raymond Lam
Dr Ray Lam completed a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours at Curtin University followed by a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours, Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Western Australia. He is a Fellow and Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in general dentistry and orthodontics respectively. Dr Ray also achieved certification with the Australasian Orthodontic Board.
He was awarded numerous prizes and awards during his university studies. He graduated with honours and dux of his graduating year in dentistry winning the Wynn Needman Memorial prize and the Pierre Fauchard Undergraduate Award of Merit. For his PhD, Dr Ray was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award with his thesis containing 11 published papers. In orthodontics, he was awarded the Headley-Cook award for the most outstanding research dissertation. He also won the Australasian Orthodontic Society Foundation for Research and Education Best Poster and the Australasian Begg Society of Orthodontics Best Presentation as an orthodontic resident.
Dr Ray spends his time between private practice and The University of Western Australia where he is currently a Senior Lecturer. He is a member of many dental societies including the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons where he was past Regional Chair of the WA branch. He is also a frequent reviewer for many orthodontic and dentistry journals and has an interest in conducting research.
In his spare time, he enjoys jogging, badminton, watching movies and spending time with his family.
