Dr. John Stamatis
Dr John Stamatis is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, where he obtained his BDSc with First Class Honours and MDSc Degrees. Prior to commencing his specialist training in Orthodontics, he practiced General Dentistry in both the public and private sectors for ten years. He has been a registered specialist Orthodontist for over 25 years.
Dr Stamatis is actively involved in teaching, both at the Postgraduate level at the University of WA, and also at the Undergraduate level at Curtin University, where he was instrumental in developing the Orthodontic curriculum for the Dental Therapy students. He also frequently lectures to students at the various Dental Assisting courses held by a number of teaching institutions.
As well as practising as an orthodontist in Perth, Dr Stamatis is an active member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, and has served several terms on the executive committee of the Western Australian branch, including one term as President.
Outside of his professional life, Dr Stamatis has a keen interest in Orthodox Ecclesiastic Music, and he is the Chief Chanter and Choirmaster of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Sts Constantine and Helene in Perth. He is also a life member of the Hellenic Community of WA. In his spare time, John enjoys gardening, and his other passion, cooking. Many a weekend is spent preparing meals for his family, and a host of extended relatives and friends.
