Considering Orthodontic Treatment for Your Child?
We make early orthodontic treatment a fun and exciting experience for children. Our practice is a warm and welcoming environment for all our patients, and we want to ensure that our young patients feel comfortable when they come in for their treatment. We have seen many times over how a perfect smile does wonders for our young patient’s self-esteem and confidence.
Starting orthodontic treatment early, or at least having the consultation is critical. Your child’s teeth and jaw are very soft at a young age, and as the first molars grow, it’s possible that early signs of a back bite or crowding can start to develop. It’s not uncommon to see children as young as 7 start orthodontic treatment. Once the molars have come through, our friendly orthodontists can take a look, and thoroughly evaluate your child’s dental growth.
Spotting any signs of future crowding, bite issues or trauma to your childs dental development at a young age allows us to improve your child’s chances of developing an incredible and healthy smile.
Did You Know?
According to The Australian Association of Orthodontists, the first time your child should see an orthodontist should happen as soon as a dental problem arises, or 7 years of age at the very latest. It’s not always necessary to start treatment at such a young age but getting a simple evaluation can help us predict the best time to begin treatment.
